 Are you unsure of how to give a blessing? Be inspired by this story shared by the Fontana
family. They recently read The Blessing and were one of the first families to join The
Blessing Challenge. Their story shows how easy it can be to paint a priceless picture of
your child and make a special memory that will be cherished forever.
Just take a look at this daughter’s face (above) as she listens to her father read his
blessing over her at an event that was just to honor her! Here’s what the Fontana’s
said about taking the Challenge:
Dear Dr. Trent and the Blessing Challenge Team,
Our oldest daughter Kathryn just turned 13 on May 23rd, and to prepare for this special occasion my husband and I read the book, "The Gift of the Blessing." We were so impacted by the book we decided to have a blessing ceremony for her. Last Sunday, June 12th we had several families gather together as we blessed her. The ceremony was beautiful. We chose to use Proverbs 3:15, "She is more precious than rubies" as our spring board. A dear friend created a video dvd of her life with Kathryn's life scriptures featured. Her father and I laid hands on her and he read the blessing aloud to her. I then presented her with a ruby necklace and told her how "precious" she is to us. Her youth pastor then spent a few minutes speaking about Kathryn's character and her leadership qualities. We even had another family (our closest friends) decide to prepare a blessing for her as well. It was the most impactful day of Kathryn's life up to this point! We would love to be one of your pioneering families.
