Share Your Blessing By Using A "Special Plate"

last day of school special plate the blessing May 24, 2023

As the school year is coming to an end, you may be looking for a way to celebrate and Bless your kids.

One easy way to do that is to use a "Special Plate".

When I was growing up, there was no greater sign of achievement or accomplishment in our house than getting to eat dinner with the Special Plate.

While you can choose any plate you want, and make it "Special Plate" in our home, was a beautiful red plate with the words, "You Are Special Today" written across it. (You can get one just like it BY CLICKING HERE). In fact, my parents had two of these plates, one for me, and one for my sister.

The Special Plate would make it's way onto our dinner table during big and small moments in our lives. On our first day of school. For doing an extra chore to help at home. For completing a hard homework assignment. For defending a friend who wasn’t being treated kindly. For trying our hardest even if we didn’t make the team. For making a hard decision etc.

AND on the last day of school to celebrate all we achieved throughout the year.

Each time the Special Plate made it's way onto our dining room table, my parents would accompany it with a blessing.

They would affirm who we were, our special God-given strengths, share with us how they saw those strengths being used. And remind us that they would be there for us as we continued to grow and become the incredible women the Lord designed us to be.

Now that we have families of our own, my sister, Laura, and I both have the same red Special Plates for our kids. And are using them as a way to bless and encourage them (and our spouses) throughout the year.

So even if the last night of school is take-out, or Pizza Night, bring out the Special Plate, and start a tradition of blessing that will encourage and bless them into the summer and beyond.
